Julius Reimer, M. A.

Julius Reimer, M. A., is junior researcher at the Leibniz Institute for Media Research | Hans-Bredow-Institut (HBI). He currently works on the project "Tinder the City", which is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. It aims on developing an innovative news and information app for the city of Bremen.

His research concentrates on journalism in times of digitalisation and datafication. He is particularly interested in the changing journalism-audience relationship, start-ups and new organisational models, innovative reporting styles, transparency as well as (personal) branding in journalism.
He is one of the three chairs of the German Young Scholars Network in Journalism Research (NaJoFo).

Julius Reimer, M. A., studied communication science, economic policy and sociology at the Westfälische Wilhelms-University in Münster and at the Università della Svizzera italiana in Lugano. From October 2011 to June 2014, he was a junior researcher within the DFG project "(Re-)Discovering the Audience” at the Hans-Bredow-Institut. During his studies in communication science, he worked as a student assistant for Prof. Dr. Christoph Neuberger. From November 2009 to September 2011, he was a research assistant for Prof. Dr. Klaus Meier at the Institute for Journalism of the TU Dortmund university, doing research as well as teaching.
