Dr. Juliane Finger worked as a research assistant for Professor Uwe Hasebrink at the Institute for Media and Communication at Universität Hamburg from 2008 to 2009 and from 2010 to 2016.
From 2009 to 2016, Juliane Finger was a member of the Graduate School “Media and Communication“ at Universität Hamburg. In her dissertation, she investigated long-term media effects. She examined the importance of television for mental and collective representations of the Holocaust.
From 2014 to 2017, Juliane Finger was also involved in the European research network CEDAR (Consortium of Emerging Directions in Audience Research).
Juliane Finger studied psychology with the focus on media and organisational psychology at the the Saarland University in Saarbrücken, at the University of Missouri (USA) as well as at the Julius-Maximilians-University Würzburg.
Her research interests are mainly in the areas of long-term effects of the media, media and memory as well individual and collective memory.
