Same same, but different. Online-Erfahrungen von Kindern und Jugendlichen in Europa

What are the experiences of children and young people in Europe when they are online? This is the focus of the international comparative study EU Kids Online. In the journal medien+erziehung [media+education], Dr. Claudia Lampert, Kira Thiel and Prof. Dr. Uwe Hasebrink give an overview of the study and the experiences of nine to 16 year olds.

Abstract
In 2010, the research network EU Kids Online published the results of a comprehensive international comparative study on the online experiences of nine to 16 year olds in 25 countries. Ten years later, a new comparative analysis has now been published, which ties in with the previous study in terms of content and methodology and presents results from 19 countries. The findings point to overall trends on the one hand and to country-specific characteristics on the other. This article provides an overview of the comparative study and selected findings.
