In this working paper, Wiebke Loosen, Anna von Garmissen, Elsa Bartelt and Tim van Olphen present first findings from a representative survey involving 1,221 journalists in Germany, conducted between September 2022 and February 2023.
The study is funded by the German Research Foundation and is part of the Worlds of Journalism research network, which is investigating the state of journalism, and the growing complexities journalists face in a rapidly changing media world in numerous countries around the world. The survey looks at different aspects of journalism, including working conditions, role perceptions, ethical attitudes, and perceived threats and challenges.
