On 13 July 2018, researchers of the
Humboldt Institut for Internet and Society visited Hans-Bredow-Institut. The guests were
Kirsten Gollatz, Project Manager at the HIIG in Research Programme I "The Evolving Digital Society“ and the guest researchers
Dr. Alfred Früh,
Clara Iglesias Keller,
Martin J. Riedl and

On the one hand, the meeting aimed at the scientific exchange among colleagues. On the other hand, the idea was to introduce the Hans-Bredow-Institut to the guest researchers, who are currently working at the HIIG.
Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Schulz, Director of the Hans-Bredow-Institut, introduced the reorganisation of the institute after its admission to the Leibniz Association. A much discussed topic of the meeting was the recently launched project
Social Science One, for which
Dr. Cornelius Puschmann is active. The project offers an unprecedented to Facebook data. It represents a new partnership between academic researchers and the private sector. It aims to help solve society's greatest challenges and better understand the objectives of the social sciences. The parnership enables scientists to analyse the increasingly rich flow of information in the private sector in a responsible and socially beneficial way.
