A virtual research sprint within the framework of our project "
Ethics of Digitalisation" will focus on the African perspective on the topic of digital sovereignty from 7 June to 30 July 2021.
It is hosted by the University of Johannesburg as part of the "Ethics of Digitalisation" project of the Global Network of Internet and Society Research Centers (NoC) and its partner institutions. These include the Alexander von Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society (HIIG), the Berkman Klein Center for Internet and Society (BKC), the Leibniz Institute for Media Research | Hans-Bredow-Institut (HBI), and the Digital Asia Hub (DAH). The event is under the patronage of the German President and funded by the Mercator Foundation.
Researchers as well as actors from industry and civil society are invited to participate in the sprint.
The deadline for applications is 23 May 2021, 23:59 Central African Time.
