BredowCast #35 - Reality TV in Deutschland

BredowCast #35 - Reality TV in Deutschland

Frauentausch [Wife Swap], Dschungelcamp [The Jungle Camp], Bauer sucht Frau [Farmer Wants a Wife] – Prof. Dr. Joan Kristin Bleicher knows them all. And probably better than anyone else. Since the first German season of Big Brother, the media researcher has been interested in the media format ‘reality TV’.

In an interview with Johanna Sebauer, she talks about what fascinates her about reality TV, the social "benefits" of this controversial media format and the extent to which self-representation on YouTube represents a competition for reality TV.
