Zusammenhalt in der Krise

The annual conference of the Research Institute Social Cohesion (RISC) includes twelve panel events with contributions from the RISC, a presentation in the evening by Leibniz Prize winner Steffen Mau and two panel discussions. On 9 July, Prof. Dr. Uwe Hasebrink, Prof. Dr. Wiebke Loosen, Dr. Sascha Hölig, Julius Reimer, Verena Albert and Hannah Immler will present the first findings from the projects of the Hamburg RISC at the HBI. From 9:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. CEST, Prof. Dr. Wiebke Loosen, Julius Reimer and Verena Albert will present their research on " Cohesion-Sensitive Journalism: On the Accessibility, Depictability and Dialogue Capability of Society" in the panel "Public Communication in Crisis - and Consequences for Cohesion".
 
In the same panel, Prof. Dr. Uwe Hasebrink, Dr. Sascha Hölig and Hannah Immler will speak about the topic: "Between Cohesion and Fragmentation: Individualised Patterns of Media Use and Socio-Spatial Connection".
 
At 1:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. CEST, Prof. Dr. Uwe Hasebrink and Prof. Dr. Wiebke Loosen will participate in the panel "The Pandemic Crisis as Digitalisation Accelerator. Consequences for Social Cohesion" with the contribution "Digital Public Sphere. The Transformation of Public Communication in the Crisis".
 
From 2:45 p.m. - 4:15 p.m. CEST, Prof. Dr. Wiebke Loosen will take part in the panel discussion "What Now? Social Cohesion after Corona". Other panelists are Dr. Armin Nassehi, Ludwig Maximilian University Munich, Prof. Dr. Jule Specht, Humboldt University Berlin, Prof. Dr. Armin Schäfer, Westfälische Wilhelms University Münster. The discussion will be moderated by Prof. Dr. Nicole Deitelhoff, spokesperson of the RISC.
 
The RISC Annual Conference 2021 will be organised by the Frankfurt section and the Frankfurt office of the RISC and will take place online. Registrations are possible by e-mail.
 
The HBI is involved in five projects at the Hamburg section of the RISC. More information is available here.
