Social-Media: Zwischen Orientierung und Verirrung

Leonie Wunderlich from the Leibniz Institute for Media Research explained how young and old people use social media at the conference "Social-Media: Zwischen Orientierung und Verirrung" [Social Media: Between Orientation and Going Astray]. The event is organized by the Akademie für politische Bildung Tutzing in cooperation with the Evangelische Arbeitsgemeinschaft Medien (EAM) im Deutschen Evangelischen Frauenbund (DEF), and the Landesverband Bayern. e.V. in Bayreuth.
Who are the users and what goals do they pursue there? The opportunities for obtaining information on the one hand and the risks of radicalization on the other play a central role. Together with the Evangelische Arbeitsgemeinschaft Medien (EAM) and experts from academia and the media, the Akademie für politische Bildung (Scholarship - Education - Public Services) wants to find out how social media is changing our everyday lives and what each and every individual can do when people lose themselves in their own environment or become radicalized.
