The educational and legal protection of children and young people against the risks of online use is raising more and more new questions as a result of increasing digitalisation. At the same time, there has been a lack of long-term empirical evidence so far. The Index for Youth Media Protection aims at filling this gap. The findings show how protecting adolescents from negative online experiences is embedded in the concerns, attitudes, knowledge and actions of parents, educators, teachers and adolescents. The results of the parent-child survey were already presented in November 2017. Now we would like to present our findings on how protection against online risks in schools and in out-of-school youth work and education is implemented and promoted.
