The Hans-Bredow-Institut and the Faculty of Law of the University of Hamburg, together with the Centre for Communication Governance at the National Law University Delhi
and the Institute for Technology & Society of Rio de Janeiro
in collaboration with the UNESCO Chair on Freedom of Communication at the University of Hamburg and the Global Network of Internet and Society Research Centers
are pleased to give students with a focus on Media Law as well as European and International Law the opportunity to participate in an international Summer School on “Embedding Human Rights in Cybersecurity” being held in Delhi, India, from 11 to 18 March 2018.
The lectures will address different aspects of Cybersecurity and its relation to Freedom of Speech and other Human Rights. The summer school typically brings together a diverse group of scholars and students from Germany, India and Brazil for an intensive week of lectures, discussions and interactive learning exercises. It offers participants a unique opportunity to learn from leading experts on an emerging legal issue. Students are expected to read introductory texts, participate in group activities and in general contribute proactively to the school’s agenda. Their learning is assessed at the end by asking them to role-play different stakeholders and make arguments before a mock UNESCO panel.
