About the Presentation

The use of automated accounts in online social networks, often referred to as "social bots" or "political bots", attracted international attention in the run-up to various major political events and marks a high point in the advancing digitalisation of the political. The possibility for the practically unlimited dissemination of individual opinions that comes into being through automation creates the risk of manipulating the opinion formation of recipients and consequently of distorting the communication process. The presentation will present essential results of the work of the same name and evaluate the use of the new means of communication with a focus on Art. 5 para. 1 GG.
