As of October 2015, Kristina Hein acts as Managing Director of the Hans-Bredow-Institut, since the beginning of 2019 she is member of the board of directors.
She studied International Business Administration at the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder) and at the Université Paul Verlaine in Metz and has a broad range of experience in the administration of non-university research institutions of the Helmholtz Association of German Research Centres (HGF).
Before joining the Hans-Bredow-Institut she headed the third-party funding division of the Helmholtz Zentrum München - German Research Centre for Environmental Health.
Prior to this she worked in the fields of project management and controlling at the Helmholtz Zentrum München as well as at the DLR - German Aerospace Centre.
