As a legally responsible foundation, the Institute has three organs: the curatorship, the directorate and the Council. The curatorship meets in formal session at least twice a year. Its members are:

Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Hoffmann-Riem has been made Honory Member of the Board of Directors due to his credits for the Hans Bredow Institute. This function does not involve any reciprocal rights and obligations, it does, however, encompass mutual information and subject-specific exchange.
